Membership Application
Individuals are qualified to be registered in respect of a trade if they can provide evidence of either:
-
Having served an apprenticeship and attaining the technical qualifications for that craft.
-
Having attained the technical qualifications relating to their trade and having such periods of employment within their trade for at least the equivalent time period of an apprenticeship.
-
All trades require evidence of completion of an apprenticeship, confirmed by supplying copies of your apprenticeship agreements.
-
If you have not served a formal apprenticeship you will need to provide detailed evidence of your employment and training history which you consider to be equivalent to having served an apprenticeship. This will need to be in the form of written evidence, on official headed paper from Employers; Architects; Clerk of Works; or other industry professionals.
-
If your application is refused, we will write to you and set out the reasons for refusal. You will be given the opportunity to provide further information or evidence to support your application.
-
If you are not able to provide further evidence, you have the right to appeal the decision to refuse registration. Any such appeal should be made in writing within 10 working days of the original decision and must set out the full reasons why you consider that the original decision was incorrect.
